The "Dying of the Old Man" — How to Navigate it & Being Love
When we learn about conscious manifestation & wake up to our true nature as God, we often hear the phrase “Your old man has to die”. Or how OG Neville Goddard would say “The Art of Dying” (from his lecture “The Art Of Dying” - Neville Goddard (01/26/1965).
What exactly does this mean? Well, it doesn’t mean you swap one ego identity for another, more upgraded one — nope! And I cannot stress this enough because there is a huge misunderstanding in the community where manifestation is often treated as a way to get your sh*t and still tackled by the “old way of living,” believing yourself to be a powerless, separate human living in a world “out there”.

What Neville and many ancient teachings truly mean is dropping the misidentification of the separate self and fully surrendering to who what you truly are: the faceless, formless, infinite Source — the I AM Presence acting in all things & being and animating this entire dream called “Life”.
This “process” we undergo is not always rainbows and unicorns — to be honest, it hardly is because it is a form of death. That mistaken identity that we have practiced for I don’t know how long before we remembered WHAT we truly are feels threatened and will do anything to survive, so that it might feel as if we're back to square one or that it's chaotic or whatever when in truth, it's all normal & natural!
The Radical Shift in Identity
This internal struggle is rooted in a fundamental, sometimes jarring, shift in identity. The “old man” operates from a deep belief in separation — seeing ourselves as distinct individuals subject to external forces like government, the economy, or the presence & actions of others. We assign power and authority to these external elements, believing they control our destiny.
Awakening, however, requires a radical withdrawal of that power, belief, authority & energy. We shift our belief from the external world and place it entirely on our I AM —the true self that is “All That Is”. This is often the most challenging part of the process.
We realize that the world “out there” is a reflection of the I AM Presence, and therefore, we are solely responsible for our reality (not in an ego way of responsibility which easily leads to blame and micromanagement). There is no one else to blame, no external circumstances to rely on, and no external authority to obey. While liberating, this realization can be terrifying. We are suddenly confronted with the total collapse of our old worldview and the radical acceptance of being the Source itself.
This transfer of authority from the external to the internal is why the transition can feel chaotic. The illusion of the separate self fights for survival, leading to moments of doubt and resistance. Yet, accepting this process is the path to truly embracing your identity as infinite Source.
You're temporarily experiencing/watching the collapse of the dynamic that occurs when you consciously choose to serve the "I AM" Presence and withdraw energy from the "human character" (the ego, or outer self).
This explains why “Living as Source” can sometimes feel turbulent, even when you are affirming the truth and do everything "right". Who we thought ourselves to be before is an illusion built on the perception of separation from God — our True Self.
with that being said, it can be tremendously helpful to have a community of like-minded beings on your side who just “get it”. where you don’t feel like you’re delusional or losing your 💩 I am so grateful that I found my people or better said, “they” found “me”; and if you feel called to join us where distortions or toxicity are absent, and where we go straight to the root & live from our true identity as Source (with weekly community calls, an interactive community, exclusive content, workshops, guest teachers & more) — you can join the party:
Here’s What’s Going on When You Radically Shift Your Self-Perception & Worldview
⚡When you begin to consciously affirm your I AM Presence as the sole reality, you are effectively starving the “character” of the attention and energy it needs to sustain itself — it needs you as the Life Force to exist.
The Ego's Alarm Bells: The character operates on fear and the belief in limitation. When you align with the "I AM," you introduce limitless power and light, which naturally dissolves the character's foundation. The character perceives this as an existential threat.
The Response: This perceived threat triggers a survival mechanism. The character will “get loud” through:
Mental Turmoil: Increased doubt, anxiety, frantic thoughts, or logical loops (“Why isn't this working?”).
Emotional Intensity: Strong emotional swings, sudden anger, fear, or sadness (often seemingly unprovoked).
Physical Sensations: Unexplained physical discomfort, aches, or sickness (as old misqualified energy is stirred up and released).
“3D” Appearances: External events that seem to confirm your fears or manifest discord, attempting to pull your attention back into the illusion.
The Illusion of “Fight”
Again, the core understanding is that the “character” is an illusion to begin with. The “fight” is not real; it is a temporary energetic reaction to the dissolution of a false identity. You are not battling a separate entity; you are observing the disintegration of a long-held habit of being something that you never were to begin with(!) — but it's just momentum, not reality, not set in stone.
Serving the “One (True!) Master” (Source) in the Face of Resistance:
This dynamic brings us back directly to the core of “You Cannot Serve Two Masters”. When the character “gets loud”, you are presented with a choice:
Serve the Illusion (the separate, small human against the world): By reacting to the thoughts, sensations, or 3D appearances with fear, concern (analyzing situations, blaming circumstances, feeling disempowered by the economy or the government), or identification (“I am sick”, “I am stressed”, “This is a real problem that needs to be fixed, or the world is crushing down”), you are giving authority back to the character and its perceived “reality”.
Serve the “I AM” (The Truth): By prioritizing your inner world, remaining centered in the I AM Presence, and recognizing the “fight” as mere illusion.
This requires a conscious decision to not identify with the experience of the character. The thoughts, the physical sensations, the external appearances (all temporary phenoma rising and falling within your infinite awareness) — they are experienced by the character, but they are not you, Source.
Our Practice is to:
Observe without Identification: Witness the mind going crazy or the body feeling sensations without claiming them as “yours”.
Being Love: Holding space for the human character; being patient, present, deep breaths, and holding it in unconditional love while remembering who is the Space Holder (Source!)
Remain Centered: Anchor yourself in the peaceful, unwavering perfection of your “I AM” Presence, regardless of the outer turmoil. See every trigger as an invitation to come home to yourself!
Maintain Your Authority: Recognize that you, as the “I AM”, are the ultimate power and the sole Reality. The character and “nobody” & nothing else has no authority over you.

The goal is to reach a point where the character's resistance is not even a distraction, because your attention is so absolutely focused on your “I AM” — you won't stop “being human” but now all is integrated and playing human becomes fun knowing it's all just a dream, and we can experience whatever the heck we want!
Sky's the limit but what does this even mean when there's no sky? (Only infinity) 😃
