„Zen“ by Jennie — A Manifestation Hymn

Yep, I LOVE Jennie, she’s the embodiment of a powerhouse and empowers women (and men ofc too!) around the globe, exactly what we NEED in this era.

I invite you to listen to this song first before you read any further, so that you know what I am talking about. Don‘t be surprised if you find yourself crying or getting emotional as you watch the music video — what you see is a reflection of your beauty and divinity, just sayin‘ ♥️

To me it‘s no surprise that more and more artistic pieces reflect the Truth of who/what we really are through hidden messages & symbols. Ariana Grande illustrated this already in her song „God Is A Woman“. The world is going through a massive awakening which seems like chaos at first but only because anything that is rooted in lack & separation (big illusions) is crumbling and cannot come into the New Earth that is build on Oneness & Divine Love.

Of course, the song focuses on central themes of Zen Buddhism such as inner peace, mindfulness, awareness, the present moment, detachment in combination with empowerment, and inward focus. The selection of beats exemplifies finding balance & maintaining inner peace despite the dynamics of life. Just as Zen invites us to rest as awareness in the present moment (the only thing that exists), so do the core principles of various spiritual teachings & mystery schools. If you examine the lyrics of Jennie’s song through the lens of Neville Goddard’s, Dr. Joe Dispenza’s or similar teachings, it is obvious they represent the concept of embodying the state of the wish fulfilled and its subsequent manifestation.

Let’s start with what we discover at the beginning of the song:

Owl as a symbol for:

  • Awareness (to see in the dark, to see the unseen + owls are able to turn their heads 270 degrees) and Wisdom

  • Transformation & Evolution: Jennie transforms into a into a bejeweled silver owl symbolizing her evolution into her highest expression of self and being free & liberated ⇨ in manifestation terms, it can be seen as „dying to the old man“ and fall in love with your desired state, your highest ideal.

  • Connection to Spiritual Realms: Owls are seen as messengers between the world of form and the world of spirits. They often appear in mythology.

  • Protection: In Greek mythology, the owl was associated with Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and was seen as a protector who symbolizing strength & resilience.

Rain as a symbol for:

  • Cleansing & Renewal: Rain purifies and washes away the old to make way for the new (the 3D is old data clearing the way for the „new“ desired reality).

  • Chaos & External Pressure: Instead of falling for that, Jennie seeks inner peace and balance which since the 3D world is a mirror will be reflected.

In essence, the appearance of both, the owl and rain to enhance the song’s message of inner strength, empowerment, authenticity and self-awareness.

Let’s decode and the hidden gems of this song:

In the first verse, the lines "I tell 'em, 'Down, now‘. I'm the energy, yes" can be interpreted as asserting authority and embodying a powerful presence. The vibe of power, strength & self-assurance runs through the whole song.

„I am what you think about me“ — the „external“ world including your human avatar, all “other” people and beings can only reflect what is alive within you. Instead of being swayed by triggering messages or conversations, you can see them as invitations to go within and course correct to what you prefer. To only give importance to what you think about yourself regardless of what is going on “outside” of you. In Jennie’s case, this could be related to the media and the idea “they” have about her but she remains detached from external judgments and opinions, and embodies confidence & inner power.

„Cross me, please“ — this is obviously linked to cruxification; not in a painful way as often intepreted in religion but in a spiritual, psychological way: The act of decisively fixing oneself in the feeling of the wish fulfilled. Choosing your new state (the state of the wish fulfilled) & dwelling in it, making it your home and let the old fall away on its own. This is a bold statement implying that no matter what challenges or seemingly opposing circumstances arise, you will remain steadfast in your chosen state. To fully embrace a new reality, you must let go of old beliefs, assumptions, and reactions that are rooted in the previous, unwanted state — detachment from the „old world“, no matter how convincing and committing to the „new world“ until it becomes second nature. Falling in love with your desired reality and yourself so strongly that the old one loses its power.

"Money can't buy sixth sense" — could be interpreted as valuing inner knowing and intuition over material wealth, which aligns with a state of inner fulfillment rather than external validation. To trust your sixth sense (your ability to imagine, your inner world and to see beyond the illusion of form) more than the physical senses that are mostly attached to what is visible to the naked eye. Spiritual sight over three-dimesional sight.

"Nobody gon' move my soul, gon' move my aura, my matter. Nobody gon' move my life, gon' touch my goal, my matter" — she declares the unwavering belief in ourselves and our divine powers, to be unbothered & unshaken in the conviction that it is done, that our desires are already fulfilled, no matter what might pop up in the world of three dimensions. This resonates deeply with Goddard's Law of Assumption, which posits that one's assumed state, the inner world is the only reality that truly matters (the unseen from which all that is seen is born), and that persisting in this assumption will lead to its manifestation. It also aligns with Josephy Murphy's teaching that the subconscious mind acts to protect and manifest what is deeply believed. Dr. Joe’s concept of a stable internal energetic state that cannot be swayed by external circumstances also finds resonance in these lines.

„Fire aura quiets shatter“ — our aura/energy doesn‘t lie, (mind) chatter does — the stronger your aura, your energetic signature, the quieter the rational mind becomes. This line also represents a state of inner calm amidst potential external noise or internal mental chatter. When you practice heart-centered awareness and let your ♥️ take over, your mind-body moves into coherence and mind chatter quietens.

Why? You transcend the analytical mind to access deeper, and higher states of consciousness. Because when mind and heart are in sync, they move in the same direction — they are on the same page, basically. Mind chatter is a symptom of incoherence where your heart and mind are out of sync. your aura becomes fire when your heart is fully activated & the electromagnetic field of it can reach up to 10 feet (3m).

"They can't move my matter" — the pre-chorus and chorus reinforces the idea of being unshakable in your Truth, immune to external pressures or any kind of distraction. To transfer it to manifestation; Dr. Joe’s concept of a stable energetic field that is not easily influenced by external factors, Goddard's emphasis on the power of inner assumptions over external „facts“, Murphy's belief in the subconscious protecting deeply held beliefs, and Zen Buddhism's focus on unconditional inner peace.

„Matter" could also represent the manifested reality that is a reflection of a firmly held assumption within consciousness & in Zen, "matter" could be seen as the phenomenal world, which is ultimately considered "empty" of inherent existence and therefore cannot be fundamentally moved by external opinions or transient events.

„All this power make them scatter" „I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.“ (Isaiah 44:6-8). Please don‘t internalize this through human perspective, this will turn spiritual teachings that are rooted in Love into an egotrip, Instead, open your heart and understand these words from a higher perspective. This phrase can be interpreted as that when you‘re fully awake & aware, deeply and unshakable rooted in your true nature as the Divine, all illusions have to fall away. This also happens on a global level; more and more folks wake up from this sleep and as an effect of that, distorted systems crumble (you can see this in politics & businesses that are build on fear and separation where manipulation & force was used to keep them alive) but old outdated strategies won‘t work anymore and cannot survive in the presence of Divine Love. Sometimes this Love is expressed as tough love in form of a wake up call.

This line illustrates how everything that doesn‘t match your desires has to fall away— incl. some shitty/unlovely states that may have been „comfortable“ due to familiarization. Sometimes it can feel as if your old world is falling apart but no worries, see it like old data clearing the way for your highest expression of your life making its way from the unseen to the seen. Trust and faith is key here (fear & doubt is faith turned upside down…), without it, you will go back to sleep & continue to live in the old paradigm which will inevitably bounce you back to what I said here. Once you’ve touched your true nature & experienced that there’s way more than the world of senses, there‘s no going back and every time we want to, we‘d manifest initiations — it‘s a game after all and hell is (just) a state of consciousness too. I believe the 3D is besides being a mirror, here as our training ground to stabilize our faith & trust.

„Thick skin layered like chains on chains on chains“ — the singer probably used this to position herself as a strong woman in the showbiz; staying true and loyal to herself no matter what the media says. That she knows who tf she is. That she is in love with herself, and unbothered by haters; they cannot touch her („fire aura quiets chatter“). Through the lens of conscious manifestation it can be seen as being unshaken in your truth, no matter how convincing or tempting the 3D might be. From the perspective of Dr. Joe Dispenza, this "thick skin" can be seen as the energetic boundary you establish when you've consciously shifted into a new state of being — resistant to the lower frequencies of lower consciousness. You are no longer vibrating at the frequency of lack & separation (illusions!) but rather resting the energy of your chosen reality. Neville would probably say, „think skin“ means embodying the unwavering conviction in your assumed state of the wish fulfilled. You are no longer identifying with the old of „being a separate little human“, or allowing external circumstances to define your reality. You dwell firmly in the feeling of your wish fulfilled, and „chains on chains on chains“ represent the deepening of this conviction through practice (incl. cultivated non-reaction and self-presence {Zen Buddhism}), ensuring that no matter how tempting or convincing the old reality appears, you remain anchored in your chosen state.

„In the dark, I grew“ — has a tone of the „dark feminine“ & undermines Jennie’s magnetic presence and charisma. She is a public figure but also honors her privacy, only revealing what she feels called to, and keeps the rest to herself.

Through the lens of spirituality, consider keeping your desires and inner world private as a sacred part of yourself. This aligns with Neville's teaching to not tell anyone what you're manifesting. Doing so can protect you from potential backlash through others reflecting doubt, especially if the new narrative in your inner world isn't yet fully established. This idea also highlights the magic of moving in silence within. So, keeping your plans and dreams to yourself fosters an intimate and beautiful relationship with yourself, in my opinion!

„Can’t be two of one“ You cannot serve two masters. This is self-explanatory, either you decide that your desires are fulfilled, or not. You either choose love, or fear. The choice is yours.

Conclusion

To me, this song is a manifestation hymn — the lyrics, with their emphasis on inner power, resilience, detachment from external opinions as well as the 3D world, and a focus on the present moment, resonate with core principles found across teachings of conscious manifestation as well as Zen Buddhism. Jennie's assertion of being "the energy" and the declaration that "nobody gon' move my soul" echo the principles of embodying a desired state of being and the power of consciousness to shape reality, as highlighted by teachers such as Dr. Joe Dispenza, or Neville Goddard. Ultimately, "Zen" can be seen as a powerful anthem that not only showcases Jennie's genius and artistic expression but also touches upon profound spiritual and philosophical ideas related to inner strength, self-awareness, and the conscious creation revelation of one's reality. This exploration demonstrates the potential for music and other forms of art as portals to bring spiritual truths as well as otherwise inexpressible messages to life.
